Successful 177th SLBC Meeting In Tamil Nadu: A Milestone In Financial Collaboration

Agricultural & Allied activities witnessed remarkable support, with banks disbursing Rs. 295,857.16 crores, achieving 76.55% of the Annual Credit Plan target

The 177th State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) meeting in Tamil Nadu marked a significant gathering of financial leaders, held under the dynamic leadership of Thiru Thangam Thennarasu, Hon’ble Minister for Finance, Human Resources Management, Government of Tamil Nadu (GoTN). The meeting, co-chaired by Smt. S Srimathy, Chairperson of SLBC, Tamil Nadu, and Executive Director of Indian Overseas Bank, brought together eminent dignitaries, including Thiru T Udhayachandran (IAS), Principal Secretary to Government, Department of Finance, GoTN; Thiru V V S Kharayat, Director, DFS, Government of India; Dr. K Inkarsal, General Manager, NABARD, Regional Office, Chennai; Thiru Rakesh Srivastava, Chief General Manager, Reserve Bank of India, Chennai, and various Secretaries, Department Heads, and LDMs from all districts.

Thiru Mohan M, General Manager of Indian Overseas Bank & Convenor, SLBC-TN, presented comprehensive agendas, leading discussions on the performance of banks and districts under various schemes up to December 2023. Noteworthy achievements include disbursement of loans totaling Rs. 491,426.70 crores during the current financial year, achieving 70.16% of the Annual Credit Plan target in priority sector advances.

Agricultural & Allied activities witnessed remarkable support, with banks disbursing Rs. 295,857.16 crores, achieving 76.55% of the Annual Credit Plan target. Similarly, under MSME, Rs. 175,015.93 crores were disbursed, reflecting 65.64% of the Annual Credit Plan target.

The meeting concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Thiru Rajeswara Reddy G, General Manager of Indian Bank, expressing gratitude for the collaborative efforts and strides made in advancing financial inclusion and support across the state.
