Union Minister Of State For Railways And Textiles Calls On Chief Minister Of Uttarakhand
Both hold discussions on the development of railway operations and facilities in the state
Union Minister of State for Railways and Textiles, Smt. Darshana Jardosh met Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister’s residence on Saturday. He discussed with the Chief Minister regarding the development, operation and necessary infrastructure facilities of railway projects in the state.
The Chief Minister requested the Union Minister to expedite the survey of Tanakpur-Bageshwar broad gauge line, construction of Lalkuan-Sitarganj-Sidkul-Khatima, Dhampur-Kashipur-Jaspur rail line, Roorkee-Deoband rail line in the interest of the state. Also requested to operate regular train from Tanakpur to Delhi, Seasonal train from Haridwar, Haldwani and Tanakpur to Ayodhya.
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is Dev Bhoomi as well as Veer Bhoomi, a large number of people here are in the army. Therefore, in view of the military interest, he also requested to operate a military special train. The Chief Minister also expected the Union Minister to expand Dehradun, Harrawala, Haridwar railway stations. He discussed about connecting SIDCUL Haridwar Iqbalpur with container rail link and construction of freight corridor. The Chief Minister requested the Union Minister to expedite the construction of Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail of national importance and also to speed up the work of Char Dham rail project.
The Union Minister of State for Railways and Textiles said that Uttarakhand has immense potential for tourism along with tourism. He has assured the Chief Minister of full cooperation in the construction and development of railway projects related to the interest of the state. He said that Vande Bharat train would also be operated in Uttarakhand. He said that Uttarakhand has its own importance as a Devbhoomi. He also talked about early implementation of schemes on priority basis keeping in view the needs of the state. Along with the development of Textile Park in the state, he has also assured the Chief Minister of cooperation for promotion of handicrafts and handlooms in the state.
