Office bearers of Steel Executives Association, today, had a much-awaited interactive session with Union Minister of Steel & Heavy Industries HD Kumaraswamy and his deputy, Union Minister of State for Steel, B Srinivasa Varma. Also present in the meeting were the CMD of RINL, Directors of RINL, SAIL’s Independent Director SK Viswanad Raju, Joint Secretary (Steel) and other senior leaders.
Honorable minister patiently listened our issues. SEA President Katam SS Chandra Rao gave the minister a detailed presentation regarding the merger of SAIL & RINL. He also discussed issues related to promotions, PRP and wages issues with the minister. The minister was apprised of lack of Iron ore and interest burdens due to expansion, which are the real reasons for losses to the Steel PSU and not the employees of RINL, as being suggested by people not knowing the inside story and problems being faced by RINL.
SEA representatives told www.indianpsu.com that the minister responded in a very positive manner and asked for some time to set things right. They added that the minister also ensured to explore the possibilities of remerger RINL and SAIL.
