Uttarakhand CM Dhami Meets Hardeep Singh Puri, Seeks Uninterrupted LPG Availability for Char Dham Yatra
During this period, Uttarakhand requires nearly 967,949 commercial LPG cylinders

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri at Kartavya Bhavan in New Delhi and held a detailed discussion on several important issues concerning Uttarakhand’s geographical conditions and disaster sensitivity.
During the meeting, Dhami requested that the supply of commercial LPG cylinders for the smooth, safe and uninterrupted conduct of the Char Dham Yatra be maintained at the existing 100 percent level.
He informed the Union Minister that the Char Dham Yatra, which runs from April to November every year, witnesses the arrival of lakhs of devotees from across India and abroad, resulting in a significant rise in the demand for commercial LPG in the state. During this period, Uttarakhand requires nearly 967,949 commercial LPG cylinders.

The Chief Minister further stated that the state faces natural disasters every year during the monsoon period between June and September. Due to the mountainous terrain and difficult geographical conditions, LPG plays an extremely crucial role in disaster management, relief and rescue operations.
In this context, he requested an additional allocation of 5 percent commercial LPG cylinders — approximately 48,397 cylinders — to ensure effective and prompt execution of emergency relief and rescue activities whenever required.
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand’s economy is largely tourism-driven, with religious tourism, pilgrimage and adventure tourism making significant contributions. The Char Dham Yatra remains a major pillar of the state’s faith, cultural identity and economic activity.
Responding positively to all the proposals placed before him, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri assured necessary action and reiterated the Central Government’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of Uttarakhand.
