Uttarakhand Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted both ground and aerial inspections of the forest fire-affected areas in the Lamgada region on Thursday. During his visit, he acknowledged the extensive damage caused by the fires this year but reassured that the situation is now under control. He emphasized that the challenges faced due to the forest fires were significant, yet the concerted efforts of the local populace and the forest department have managed to stabilize the situation.

Chief Minister Dhami highlighted ongoing initiatives to combat and prevent future forest fires. These include the construction of fire lines and the development of a comprehensive, year-round action plan. He expressed his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the fires and stressed that a robust plan is being formulated to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister indicated that strict action will be taken against any officers and employees found negligent in their duties related to forest fire management and prevention. This approach aims to ensure accountability and enhance the effectiveness of forest fire mitigation strategies.
