Government will consider helping women self-help groups affected during Corona period

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today interacted with the women self-help groups associated with the National Rural Livelihood Mission and took their feedback.

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that women self-help groups will be further strengthened. In order for the groups to get a good price for their products, it is necessary that there should be demand based production. Efforts will be made to tie up the groups with big companies. The Chief Minister was interacting with the women self-help groups associated with the National Rural Livelihoods Mission and taking their feedback at the Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali auditorium located in the Secretariat.

The Chief Minister said that the Women Self Help Groups are doing a very good job. They will be given more strength. This interactive program was organized to find out what problems are being faced by these groups and what the state government can do according to them.

Demand based production for better price

The Chief Minister said that so that women self-help groups can get better price for their products, production needs to be done according to the market demand. The possibilities of joint ventures of groups with private big companies will also be seen. Deendayal Antyodaya-National Rural Livelihood Mission aims to empower the last mile people of the society through self-employment.

Camps will be set up for self-employment

The Chief Minister said that government jobs are limited, so the focus of the state government is to connect lakhs of people with self-employment along with recruitment on vacant posts. Many times people do not get the loan sanctioned from the bank due to non-completion of formalities. In view of these problems, we have given instructions to set up camps where state government officials and bank officials will help in filling the forms and completing the formalities on the spot.

Government will consider helping women self-help groups affected during Corona period

The Chief Minister said that along with entrepreneurs, women self-help groups have also faced problems during the Corona period. The state government will consider how the affected women self-help groups can be helped during the corona period. Some decision will be taken in this regard till Raksha Bandhan. The Chief Minister said that the campaign of free vaccine, vaccine for all has been started by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji in the country. The state government is working in Uttarakhand with the target of 100% vaccination in the next four months. The Chief Minister called upon the women belonging to self-help groups to make people around them aware of the vaccine.

Cabinet Minister Swami Yatheeswaranand said that special attention needs to be given on bank linkage, value addition, training and quality improvement of SHGs. Ensure that the set targets are met on time.

Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Manisha Panwar informed that Deendayal Antyodaya National Rural Livelihood Mission is being operated in 95 development blocks of 13 districts. More than 33 thousand women self-help groups are associated with it. About 2.5 lakh women are members of these groups. A revolving fund of Rs 10 to 15 thousand is provided to each group.

On this occasion, the members of the women self-help groups present in the program gave information about the activities and problems of their group and also gave suggestions. Some women self help groups also presented their products to the Chief Minister.
