NTPC Celebrates Golden Jubilee With Grand Festivities
The festivities continue with a special cultural evening featuring Bollywood singer Javed Ali on November 8
India’s leading power PSU has entered its 50th year with many commemorative events, marking a momentous journey since its founding in 1975. Celebrations at NTPC Unchahar commenced with a vibrant flag-hoisting ceremony led by Project Head, Mandeep Singh Chhabra. In an enthusiastic start, Chhabra, along with senior officials, employee representatives, and members of the Priyadarshini Ladies Club, released balloons into the sky, symbolizing NTPC’s ascent and progress.
During his address, Chhabra emphasized NTPC’s pioneering achievements, from coal, gas, hydro, and renewable energy to nuclear energy, establishing a global presence with a robust 76 GW installed power capacity. He credited NTPC’s growth to its dedicated employees, their families, and partner organizations. Acknowledging the growing challenges in the power sector, Chhabra expressed confidence in NTPC’s continued commitment to making India energy-independent.
The event saw a spirited cake-cutting ceremony, followed by a lively quiz competition, with employees enthusiastically participating and winning prizes. For added enjoyment, a colorful cultural evening was held, featuring performances that brought families and employees together.
Ruma De Sharma, Additional General Manager of HR, extended a warm welcome and urged employees and their families to actively partake in the golden jubilee celebrations. The event also included the presence of Priyadarshini Ladies Club President Taruna Chhabra, General Manager Ravi Prakash Agarwal, along with other senior officials, employees, and school principals, ensuring a successful celebration.
