IOCL : Delay In Declaring Reserve Candidate For Director (P&BD) Spreading Rumours Of Manipulation
Industry leaders are baffled as to why the PESB is sitting tight and not disclosing the name of the reserve candidate
There is an unexplained delay in declaring / publishing the reserve candidate for Director (Planning & Business Development) of country’s largest pubic sector undertaking – Indian Oil Corporation Limited, which has started rumour mills of sorts and as a result, is causing widespread gossiping regarding manipulation in this process.
Earlier, Arvindar Singh Sahney was selected by PESB for the Director (P&BD), who later was also selected as Chairman by Search-Cum-Select-Committee. With is his joining as Chairman on November 13, 2024, the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoP&NG) on the very same day, requested the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB). to disclose the name of the reserve candidate for this post.

What has come to many as a big surprise is that, the same has not been disclosed by PESB even after passage of more than 10 days. It’s causing spreading of rumours like wildfire including those of manipulation about changing the name of reserve candidate.
