REC Limited Launches Five Mobile Medical Units In Uttarakhand Under CSR Initiative
This deployment is part of the REC Foundation’s larger initiative, Doctor Aapke Dwaar

REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) under the Ministry of Power and a leading Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC), has extended financial assistance of ₹6.01 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for the deployment of five Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) in Uttarakhand.
The initiative was officially inaugurated by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, in the presence of Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Health Secretary Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Director General Health Dr. Sunita Tamta, REC’s Dehradun Regional Office CPM Sunil Bisht, CSC Academy COO Jha, and other senior officials from REC and CSC Academy.
Implemented in partnership with CSC Academy, the MMUs will serve the districts of Haridwar (2 units), Udham Singh Nagar (2 units), and Tehri Garhwal (1 unit), focusing on remote and underserved areas. These mobile clinics are equipped with basic diagnostic and treatment facilities and will operate six days a week to deliver free primary healthcare services directly to the doorsteps of marginalized communities.
In a pioneering move towards gender-sensitive healthcare, one of the five units has been exclusively dedicated to women’s health. Staffed entirely by female healthcare professionals, this unit is tailored to address the unique health concerns of women in conservative and geographically challenging regions.
The MMUs will work in close coordination with Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) and the Uttarakhand State Health Department to ensure effective implementation and integration with existing government health programs.
This deployment is part of the REC Foundation’s larger initiative, Doctor Aapke Dwaar, which already operates Mobile Health Clinics across several states including Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and Punjab.
