India to Host Asia Pacific Accident Investigation Group Meeting and Workshop for First Time

Around 90 aircraft accident investigators expected to participate in 4-day event beginning October 2

For the first time, India will host the Asia Pacific Accident Investigation Group (APAC-AIG) meeting and workshop from October 28–31, 2025. The event, organized by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, will see participation from around 90 aircraft accident investigators representing ICAO member states in the Asia Pacific region and international organizations.

Union Minister of Civil Aviation Rammohan Naidu will inaugurate the four-day event, which will focus on strengthening regional cooperation and sharing best practices in aircraft accident investigation.

The APAC-AIG meeting is an annual event of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), hosted each year by one of its member states in the Asia Pacific region. The 2025 edition marks India’s debut as host nation.

The workshop, scheduled for October 28–29, will cover critical topics related to aircraft accident investigations, including processes, reporting, and data analysis. Experts from AAIB, DGCA, and international agencies will conduct technical sessions aimed at enhancing investigative capabilities.

Subsequent meetings on October 30–31 will involve discussions among ICAO representatives and regional authorities to further develop cooperation and strengthen accident investigation mechanisms across the Asia Pacific region.
