Celebration marks 150 years of “Vande Mataram” and honours outstanding women employees under “Nari Shakti Vandan”

Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) inaugurated its two-day grand “Vigilance Festival-2025” at its headquarters with great enthusiasm, marking the culmination of a 2.5-month-long Vigilance Awareness Campaign. The event was graced by Nilendu Kumar Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Pawan Kumar Mishra, Director (Finance), Chandra Shekhar Tiwari, Director (Technical/Operations), and Pawan Kumar, Chief Vigilance Officer, who served as the chief guests.

The festival commenced with the corporate song of Coal India Limited, followed by an integrity oath administered to all officers and employees by the CMD, Directors, and CVO. A vigilance march and balloon release further spread the message of transparency and accountability.
Commemorating 150 Years of “Vande Mataram”
In line with the nationwide commemoration launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, CCL officers and employees from various areas, including the headquarters, sang the full version of “Vande Mataram” in unison. The occasion highlighted the song’s historic significance as a symbol of India’s freedom struggle and aimed to pass on its spirit to the younger generation.

Vigilance Through Art and Awareness
CMD Nilendu Kumar Singh inaugurated a live painting workshop featuring participants from multiple states, showcasing their artistic interpretations on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”
The event also featured Rangoli competitions, street painting, and pot painting, which saw enthusiastic participation from students of various schools, colleges, and universities—combining creativity with the message of vigilance.

Speaking on the occasion, CMD Nilendu Kumar Singh remarked, “We have been observing the Vigilance Campaign with patience and dedication for the past two and a half months. Transparency is the core of our work culture. We must maintain courage and restraint and perform our duties with complete dedication. And most importantly, we must never abandon common sense.”
CVO Pawan Kumar added, “Vigilance is not merely an action but a preventive process. Awareness and integrity are our strongest tools against corruption, and it is our shared duty to nurture this spirit within the CCL family.”
Celebrating “Nari Shakti Vandan”

Under the leadership of Mrs. Preeti Singh, President of Arpita Mahila Mandal, the festival also celebrated women’s empowerment through a cultural programme titled “Nari Shakti Vandan.” On this occasion, women employees who demonstrated exceptional performance across various fields were felicitated for their contributions to the organization.
