ALIMCO Marks 53rd Foundation Day; Unveils New Logo and Next-Generation Mobility Solutions for Divyangjan
More than 32 lakh Divyang beneficiaries have been supported through various government initiatives, with ALIMCO playing a central role in delivering high-quality assistive devices across India

The Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) celebrated its 53rd Foundation Day today with the unveiling of a new corporate logo and the launch of two breakthrough mobility solutions for Divyangjan and senior citizens. The event was graced by Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar and Minister of State B. L. Verma.

A Journey from Manufacturing Unit to National Institution
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Virendra Kumar lauded ALIMCO’s evolution over five decades into a national institution synonymous with innovation, accessibility and empathy. He highlighted that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, more than 32 lakh Divyang beneficiaries have been supported through various government initiatives, with ALIMCO playing a central role in delivering high-quality assistive devices across India.

“A Celebration of Compassion and Purpose”
B. L. Verma described the day as a celebration of collective commitment to inclusion. He said the new mobility devices are not just engineering achievements but instruments of independence and dignity, reinforcing India’s leadership in accessible technology.
A Moving Address by Manmeet Kaur Nanda
In a deeply impactful address, Manmeet Kaur Nanda, Additional Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, said ALIMCO must be seen not merely as a production organisation but as a living institution carrying forward India’s vision of inclusion, self-reliance and social justice.
Referring to inspiring stories featured in a film screened at the programme—including that of Sarita Trivedi, a triple amputee artist, and a BSF officer who defeated the World No. 1 para-badminton player despite losing his limbs—she quoted, “Limbs are optional, but courage is compulsory.”
She expressed heartfelt gratitude to ALIMCO’s officers, employees and workmen for their relentless, often unseen, dedication in empowering lives and restoring hope to families across the country.

Future-Ready ALIMCO: Innovation, Startups & Smart Assistive Tech
Nanda outlined ALIMCO’s forward-looking vision, which includes:
- Collaboration with 80+ start-ups
- Technology transfer agreements
- Expansion into AI-driven and smart digital assistive devices
- Introduction of advanced, affordable and high-quality aids for persons with disabilities
She emphasised that the new ALIMCO logo will stand as a symbol of innovation, compassion and responsibility, reaffirming the resolve that no citizen will be left behind.
New Corporate Logo Reflects Dignity and Technological Excellence
Introducing ALIMCO’s new identity, CMD Shri Praveen Kumar said the purple-coloured logo represents dignity, inclusion and engineering brilliance, and aligns with the organisation’s renewed focus on modern solutions, faster delivery and greater impact.
He added that with EV-based mobility, next-generation prosthetics and advanced assistive devices, ALIMCO is now better equipped to respond to emerging needs with quality, sensitivity and speed.
