Mahanagar Gas Showcases Integrated Clean Energy Portfolio at India Energy Week 2026

MGL highlights PNG, CNG, LNG, CBG and electric mobility initiatives; exchanges RLNG sourcing agreement with GAIL at Goa energy summit

Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), one of India’s largest city gas distribution companies, showcased its expanding integrated natural gas and clean energy portfolio at India Energy Week 2026, reinforcing its role in strengthening India’s energy transition.

The company’s stall was inaugurated by Chairman Sandeep Kumar Gupta in the presence of Managing Director Ashu Shinghal and Deputy Managing Director Ajay Sinha, along with senior officials.

Throughout the four-day global energy summit, MGL highlighted key milestones across Piped Natural Gas (PNG), Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Compressed Biogas (CBG) and electric mobility verticals. The showcase reflected MGL’s growing footprint in Maharashtra—covering Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Latur and Osmanabad—and Karnataka’s Chitradurga and Davanagere districts.

Visitors were drawn to displays of electric vehicles, compressed biogas solutions and an actual battery cell developed for two-wheelers and three-wheelers, underscoring the company’s diversified push toward cleaner mobility and sustainable energy access.

India Energy Week also provided a strategic platform for MGL to deepen its LNG engagement. The company exchanged a Master Sales Agreement with GAIL for RLNG sourcing and held discussions across the LNG value chain to explore additional supply opportunities.

Speaking on the occasion, Ashu Shinghal, Managing Director, Mahanagar Gas Limited, said India Energy Week has emerged as a vital forum for shaping global energy dialogue. He noted that MGL’s participation enabled the company to demonstrate the practical value of PNG, CNG and LNG in improving energy access and efficiency while supporting India’s transition to cleaner fuels.

Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, India Energy Week 2026 brought together policymakers, global energy leaders and industry experts. The event attracted over 75,000 professionals and more than 700 exhibitors from 120 countries, hosting thematic zones, executive roundtables and leadership sessions focused on accelerating the next phase of global energy transformation.
