Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited Erects First Wind Turbine at Nandurbar, Marks Major Renewable Milestone
100 MW mega wind project signals BPCL’s independent push toward Net Zero under Project Aspire

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has taken a decisive step in its renewable energy journey with the successful erection of the first Wind Energy Generator (WEG) at Nandurbar in Maharashtra. The development marks BPCL’s first sole wind power venture under a mega-scale 100 MW project.
The project comprises 24 advanced 2.1 MW wind turbines, each rising to a height of 140 metres, spread across nearly 110 acres in Nandurbar district. The installation of the first turbine underscores the company’s strong project execution capabilities and its commitment to building resilient, future-ready renewable energy assets.

This milestone reflects BPCL’s strategic transition from participating in renewable energy joint ventures to establishing independent clean energy leadership. The 100 MW wind project forms a key component of BPCL’s broader sustainability roadmap.
Aligned with its long-term Net Zero aspirations and driven by its transformation blueprint, Project Aspire, BPCL continues to integrate sustainability into its core growth strategy. The initiative reinforces the company’s commitment to diversifying its energy portfolio while contributing meaningfully to India’s clean energy transition.
