Uttarakhand Govt Committed to Giving Global Recognition to Religious Tourism: CM Dhami
Our goal is to further strengthen religious tourism so that Uttarakhand’s identity gains global recognition, said the CM

Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to elevating religious tourism in Uttarakhand to global prominence, while emphasizing ongoing efforts to strengthen the revered Char Dham Yatra.

The Chief Minister made these remarks after offering prayers at Shri Hanuman Dham in Chhoi, Ramnagar. Addressing public representatives, officials, and devotees, he said that the blessings of Lord Hanuman guide every devotee, adding that “no one can reach his court without his will.”

Spiritual Experience and Blessings
Sharing a personal anecdote, Dhami said he had tried multiple times to visit the temple earlier, but plans did not materialize. “This time, by Bajrangbali’s grace, the visit was suddenly finalized, and I was fortunate to have darshan,” he said, praying for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the people of the state.

Boost to Religious Infrastructure
Highlighting key national developments under Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister cited the construction of the Ram Temple Ayodhya and the transformation of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor as landmark achievements enhancing the pilgrimage experience.
He also noted that extensive development works are underway at Kedarnath Temple and Badrinath Temple, reinforcing Uttarakhand’s spiritual identity.
Focus on Cultural Heritage and Governance
Describing Uttarakhand as “Devbhoomi” (land of gods), Dhami stressed that safeguarding its religious and cultural heritage remains a top priority. He highlighted the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code Uttarakhand, stating that the state has set an example for the rest of the country.
Rising Pilgrim Footfall
The Chief Minister noted that ongoing beautification and infrastructure development in regions like Kedarkhand and Manaskhand have led to a steady increase in pilgrim footfall.

Preparations are already underway for the proposed Kumbh Mela 2027, which he described as an event of national significance. He added that around 1.6 lakh devotees have already participated in the winter pilgrimage so far, reflecting the growing appeal of Uttarakhand as a year-round spiritual destination.
Strengthening Global Identity
Dhami emphasized that even during winter months, a large number of tourists and pilgrims are visiting the state. “Our goal is to further strengthen religious tourism so that Uttarakhand’s identity gains global recognition,” he said.

Expressing gratitude to devotees, he concluded, “May the blessings of Bajrangbali remain upon us all, and may Uttarakhand continue to progress.”
