SECL Hosts 3rd Coal India HR/IR Conclave “Utkarsh 2026”

Chief Guest, B. Sairam, Chairman of Coal India Limited, emphasized that coal continues to remain the backbone of India’s energy security

The third Coal India HR/IR Conclave, “Utkarsh 2026,” hosted by South Eastern Coalfields Limited, was inaugurated at Vasant Club, Vasant Vihar, SECL, in a formal ceremony marked by strong participation from senior HR leadership across the coal sector.

The two-day conclave has brought together top Human Resources and Industrial Relations professionals from Coal India Limited and its subsidiary companies to deliberate on critical HR strategies, workforce engagement, and industrial relations frameworks shaping the future of the sector.

Leadership Insights and Vision

Addressing the gathering virtually as Chief Guest, B. Sairam, Chairman of Coal India Limited, emphasized that coal continues to remain the backbone of India’s energy security. He underlined that employees are the organization’s greatest strength and highlighted Coal India’s guiding theme for the year—“Reform, Perform, Transform.”

In his welcome address, Harish Duhan, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of SECL, expressed pride in hosting the prestigious conclave. He stressed that employees are the most valuable asset of any organization and reiterated the need for sustained focus on employee welfare and development.

Delivering a special address, Brajesh Kumar Tripathy, Chief Vigilance Officer of Coal India, described the organization as more than just a company—calling it an identity—and remarked, “Only the best emerge as true Coal Indians.”

In the keynote session, Dr. Vinay Ranjan, Director (Human Resources), Coal India Limited, highlighted the organization’s transformational journey since its inception. He emphasized:

The inaugural session witnessed participation from Directors (HR) of all Coal India subsidiaries, SECL Board members, and senior officials.
