The Indian Institute of Management Jammu successfully concluded Phase I of the Leadership Development Programme for Young Managers (Batch IV) for executives of Steel Authority of India Limited on May 22, 2026, at its Chanakya Classroom.
The five-day intensive programme was designed to equip emerging leaders with contemporary leadership competencies, strategic thinking capabilities, and collaborative management skills. A total of 52 young executives from SAIL participated in this phase of the programme.
Addressing the participants virtually, Sanjay Dhar, Executive Director (HR-L&D), MTI SAIL, congratulated the participants on successfully completing the first phase. In his address, he encouraged them to utilize their time productively, engage in collective learning, and strengthen teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
He emphasized the need to move beyond comfort zones and develop higher-order cognitive abilities, critical thinking, and effective engagement skills. Highlighting the importance of innovation and leadership, he noted that participants should take initiative and cultivate broader perspectives. He added that exposure to IIM Jammu’s academic environment should bring a meaningful transformation in how they approach challenges, opportunities, and decision-making.
The programme commenced with a welcome address and overview by Dr. Lalit Pankaj, Programme Director, who outlined the structure, objectives, and expected learning outcomes. He emphasized the programme’s focus on nurturing agile, future-ready leaders capable of navigating complex business environments.
The valedictory session was attended by Rajesh Sikka, Co-Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy (online), along with Programme Directors Dr. Prakrit Sillal, Dr. Lalit Pankaj, and Dr. Pranjal Pachpore.
Participants shared positive feedback, describing the programme as a transformative learning experience.
