CIL CVO Brajesh Kumar Tripathi Reviews Digital Vigilance Systems During Visit to BCCL’s Sijua and Katras Areas
Inspects ICCC Centres, emphasizes transparency, technology-driven governance, and integrity during vigilance seminar with officers and management trainees

Continuing his two-day visit to Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), Coal India Limited (CIL) Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) Brajesh Kumar Tripathi on Thursday visited the Sijua and Katras Regional Offices, where he reviewed operational activities, inspected Integrated Command and Control Centres (ICCC), and interacted with officers, employees, and newly recruited management trainees on vigilance, transparency, and good governance.
The visit focused on strengthening digital monitoring mechanisms and promoting an organizational culture rooted in integrity, accountability, and ethical governance.
Reviews ICCC and Digital Monitoring Systems
Tripathi began his visit by inspecting the ICCC Centres at the Sijua and Katras Regional Offices. He reviewed live surveillance operations and assessed the functioning of various digital monitoring systems, including GPS-enabled vehicle tracking, route fencing, RFID-based monitoring, Boom Barrier Access Control Systems, Vetment Systems, and AI-enabled CCTV surveillance.
During the live review, he monitored operations at the Bansjoda Railway Siding along with facilities in Sijua Area-5 and Katras Area-4. He appreciated the effective implementation of digital surveillance systems across the mining areas and directed officials to further enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of monitoring through advanced technology.
The inspection was attended by Rajiv Kumar Sinha, Director (Technical/Project & Planning), Dipti Patel, CVO, BCCL, N.R. Srivastava, General Manager (Vigilance), CIL, N.K. Thakur, General Manager (Vigilance), BCCL, R.R. Karna, General Manager (ENT), Nirjhar Chakraborty, General Manager (Sijua), B.K. Jha, General Manager (Katras), along with senior officers and employees.
Promotes Environmental Responsibility
As part of the environmental awareness campaign, Tripathi planted a sapling under the themes “One Tree for Mother” and “One Tree for Vigilance” at the regional office premises. CVO BCCL Dipti Patel and other officials also participated in the plantation drive, reaffirming their commitment to environmental sustainability and nature conservation.
Vigilance Must Become Part of Work Culture
In the final leg of his visit, Tripathi addressed a vigilance interactive session and seminar at the Prajjwala Mahila Samiti Conference Hall in the MT Hostel campus.
Addressing newly recruited management trainees, officers, and employees, he stressed that vigilance extends beyond compliance and should become an integral part of everyday work culture.
He said vigilance is closely linked to the work style, thinking, and sense of responsibility of every employee. According to him, when officials perform their duties with honesty, transparency, accountability, and ethical values, the organization’s efficiency, credibility, and public trust are naturally strengthened.
Tripathi urged officers and newly appointed employees to uphold the highest standards of fairness, transparency, and integrity while embracing technology-driven methodologies to strengthen operational efficiency and good governance.
Leadership Emphasizes Ethics and Technology
Director (Technical/Project & Planning) Rajiv Kumar Sinha highlighted that integrity and transparency are fundamental to an organization’s long-term success, stating that ethical work practices are as important as technical excellence.
BCCL CVO Dipti Patel said the company is continuously strengthening its monitoring framework through digital technologies and information technology-based initiatives. She noted that BCCL remains committed to building a responsive, transparent, and technology-driven work culture through innovation and modern monitoring systems.
Digital Initiatives Showcased
The seminar commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the Coal India corporate song. General Manager (Sijua) Nirjhar Chakraborty welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the region’s operational achievements.
Officials from Sijua and Katras presented detailed PowerPoint presentations showcasing operational achievements and vigilance-related digital initiatives. The presentations covered the Integrated Command and Control Centre, RFID-based Boom Barrier Access Control System, Vetment System, GPS-based Vehicle Tracking System, AI-based CCTV Surveillance System, Biometric Attendance System, dewatering mechanisms, environmental initiatives, land encroachment clearance, and other projects aimed at improving operational excellence.
Integrity Pledge Administered
At the conclusion of the programme, Tripathi administered the Integrity Pledge to all officers and employees, calling upon them to discharge their responsibilities with honesty, impartiality, transparency, and unwavering adherence to ethical values.
Earlier, as part of his two-day BCCL visit, Tripathi participated as the Chief Guest and Special Speaker in a Vigilance Interactive Session-cum-Seminar on the theme “Mission CIL @2026: Reform, Transform, Perform and Inform” at Coal Bhawan headquarters, where he shared his vision on vigilance, institutional transparency, ethical governance, and organizational excellence.
