BCCL emphasizes increasing coal dispatch to power sector
CMD BCCL inspects siding facilities at Kusunda area
Keeping in mind the increasing coal requirement of the power sector, Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) is taking steps to strengthen its coal dispatch and evacuation system.
In this connection, BCCL CMD Manoj Kumar Agarwal visited the siding and operational facilities of the Kusunda area and reviewed coal evacuation arrangements. He also issued necessary directions to the concerned officials.
During the inspection, Agarwal directed that dispatch at the KDS-II siding be increased from the current 0.7 rakes per day to 3 rakes per day. At the KDS-K siding, the target has been set to increase dispatch from 0.6 rakes per day to 2–2.5 rakes per day.
The CMD also reviewed lighting, crusher operations and other operational arrangements at the sidings. He directed that maintenance teams remain available on-site 24×7 to prevent disruptions. Special attention was also stressed on ensuring adequate and effective lighting, particularly during nighttime operations.
Agarwal interacted with transporters during the visit and emphasized the need to maximize coal transportation. He stressed optimal utilization of siding capacity through better coordination among all stakeholders.
Optimizing siding capacity, improving operational efficiency and strengthening systems for uninterrupted coal evacuation remain key priorities for BCCL. The measures are aimed at increasing coal dispatch capacity and ensuring a more efficient supply system to meet the requirements of the power sector.
BCCL is continuously monitoring the coal dispatch and evacuation process and taking corrective measures at the operational level to make the system smoother, more systematic and effective.
