NLC India Awards 289.87 MWp Solar Module Order to Vikram Solar for Rajasthan Project

NLC India Limited has awarded an order to Vikram Solar for the supply of 289.87 MWp of high-efficiency solar modules for an 810 MW solar power project at the RUVN Solar Park in Pugal, Bikaner, Rajasthan.
The order covers the supply of N-type TOPCon solar photovoltaic (PV) modules to NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited, for the large-scale renewable energy project. The RUVN Solar Park is among the major solar developments in the country.
N-Type TOPCon Technology for Rajasthan’s Solar Park
The solar modules use N-type Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) cell technology, designed to deliver higher energy yields and stable performance under high solar irradiation and elevated temperatures.
These features are particularly relevant for western Rajasthan, where intense sunlight and high temperatures create demanding operating conditions for utility-scale solar installations.
The project, spread across the Thar region, is part of Rajasthan’s efforts to harness its substantial solar energy potential and expand large-scale renewable power generation.
Boost to Domestic Solar Manufacturing
The order strengthens Vikram Solar’s position as a supplier of solar modules for large grid-connected projects in India. It also adds to the company’s order book amid growing demand for high-efficiency solar modules manufactured domestically.
Reliability, consistent product quality and timely delivery remain critical for projects of this scale, where module performance directly influences long-term energy generation.
Commenting on the order, Sameer Nagpal, Chief Executive Officer of Vikram Solar, said the contract for nearly 290 MWp of solar modules reflected confidence in the company’s TOPCon technology and its ability to supply utility-scale projects.
He added that the company’s focus remained on strengthening its manufacturing capabilities while ensuring performance certainty and supply reliability for large renewable energy projects.
Vikram Solar’s Manufacturing Presence
Headquartered in Kolkata, Vikram Solar is an Indian solar PV module manufacturer with an international presence across 39 countries.
The company said it had been recognised as a Top Performer in PVEL’s PV Module Reliability Scorecard for the ninth time and had featured in BloombergNEF’s Tier 1 solar PV module manufacturer list for 10 consecutive quarters.
The company has also established a nationwide distribution network comprising 119 authorised distributors and more than 750 dealers.
