BPMS & AIDEF Ask Raksha Mantri To Withdraw His Statement On Taking Unions In Confidence Before Passing EDSO-2021 Bill
We are greatly pained by your statement made in the Parliament, say BPMS and AIDEF
After the Loksabha passed the draconian Essential Defence Services Bill 2021 and Government is moving in the Rajya Sabha to pass the same the Defence Civilian Employees Federations have now decided to observe DHIKKAR DIWAS in all the 430 Defence establishment on 09-08-2021. The AIDEF and BPMS have protested against the statement made by the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in the Parliament while moving the Essential Defence Services Bill 2021.
In a joint letter addressed to the Defence Minister they have protested that his statement “the Government had taken all Employees Unions into confidence before passing it” is a false statement and that they are all along opposing the draconian EDSO Bill 2021 since it is draconian and it snatches the rights of the Defence Employees to protest against in justice. They have demanded that either the Minister should withdraw the statement or he should clarify that which union has given their consent for passing the draconian EDSO 2021 Bill. www.indianpsu.com accessed a copy of the Joint letter written by AIDEF & BPMS to the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on 4-8-2021. The contents of the same is given below for the benefit of the viewers of www.indianpsu.com –
Sub: Protest against the Statement made by Hon’ble RM in the Parliament while moving the Essential Defence Services Bill 2021.
Respected Sir,
We are very much shocked and surprised to note that on 03/08/2021 when your honour moved the draconian Essential Defence Services Bill 2021 you made a statement that “the Government had taken all Employees Unions in to confidence before passing it”. We are not aware that which Union of the Defence Civilian Employees have given its concern for passing the controversial Essential Defence Services Bill 2021 in the parliament. Infact from day one when the draconian Ordinance was promulgated by the Government, we protested against the Government decision, since it is draconian and it takes away the hard earned democratic and constitutional rights of the employees to protest.
You may kindly recollect that on 16/07/2021 when the Federations met your honour we submitted a letter dtd. 16/07/2021, in which we have vehemently opposed the Essential Defence Services Ordinance 2021 and have demanded to withdraw the same. In the meeting also we raised the issue and demanded that this draconian Ordinance should be withdrawn and that the Ordinance should not be converted in to an Act. However unfortunately you have not responded for the same. In this situation we observed an All India Protest Day against the draconian EDSO 2021 on 22/07/2021. At present a signature campaigning against the draconian EDsO-2021 is going on throughout the country. Therefore the Statement made by a leader of your stature has pained us a lot. Therefore we register our protest and request your honour to kindly withdraw your statement made in the Parliament in this regard or you may kindly clarify which Union has given their consent for passing the draconian EDSO 2021 Bill.
