HAL to Hand Over Tejas Twin Seaters, HTT-40 Trainers to IAF and Dhruv NG Helicopters to Pawan Hans

Raksha Mantri and Civil Aviation Minister to witness the handing over in Bangaluru tomorrow

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will hand over LCA Tejas Final Operational Clearance (FOC) Twin Seater Trainers and HTT-40 Basic Trainer Aircraft to the Indian Air Force (IAF), along with Dhruv Next Generation (NG) helicopters to Pawan Hans Limited (PHL), in Bengaluru on September 18.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu will be present at the handover ceremony.

The event is expected to highlight HAL’s growing role in India’s indigenous aerospace manufacturing ecosystem, with platforms being delivered for both military and civil aviation requirements.

Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Secretary (Defence Production) Sanjeev Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation Samir Kumar Sinha, CMD, HAL Ravi K, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Civil Aviation, IAF, PHL, regulatory agencies and the aerospace and defence industry, will attend the event.

The Government has accorded high priority to indigenous design, development and manufacturing in the aerospace and defence sectors. The induction of these platforms is aimed at strengthening domestic aerospace capabilities and reducing dependence on foreign sources.

The handover will also showcase the expanding capability of Indian industry to design, develop and manufacture advanced aircraft and helicopters for both defence and civil applications.
