Indian Bank Observes National Sports Day
These celebrations were to promote sports and fitness culture among the staff members
Indian Bank, organised a series of sports and fitness activities in celebration of National Sports Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Hockey Legend Major Dhyan Chand. Various offices of the Bank across the country administered FIT India pledge and organized sports meets for its staff members from 26th August to 31st August 2024.
As part of these celebrations, a Rapid Chess tournament was conducted at The Indian bank, Corporate Office, Chennai on 30.08.2024, wherein more than 50 staff members participated. The tournament was conducted under blitz format with 5 rounds. National FIDE arbiter Ms. J Janani, was the Chief Arbiter of the tournament. Also, a hockey tournament was organised at Dr. Radhakrishnan Stadium, Egmore. Two teams from Indian Bank played in the penalty shoot-out competition.
These celebrations were to promote sports and fitness culture among the staff members, underscoring the importance of nurturing a healthy lifestyle, discipline for overall wellbeing.
