Message Of Green Energy Spread From Ganga, CNG Boat Rally Organized From Namo Ghat To Ravidas Ghat In Varanasi

GAIL organized the program under India Energy Week 2023

A CNG boat rally was organized on Sunday to spread the message of green energy through Ganga. During this, boat races of the departments related to the Ministry of Petroleum, Government of India were also organized. Under India Energy Week 2023, a program named ‘Kashi Ke Rang Urja Ke Sang’ was being organized by Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL).

The rally started from Namo Ghat and culminated at Ravidas Ghat. The boat rally was flagged off by State Energy and Urban Development Minister A.K. Sharma and Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. The purpose of this rally was to make people more and more aware about green energy. Along with this, the boatmen of Ganga were also be motivated to use CNG, so that the level of pollution in Ganga can be reduced.

90 percent of the boats in Ganga converted to CNG

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is turning every scheme of PM Modi into reality inside Uttar Pradesh. In this sequence, ‘Green Ganga’ is now ready to flow in North Vahini Ganga in Kashi. Dr. D. Vasudevan, General Manager of Smart City, said that for the first time in the world, CNG-based boats are running on such a large scale in Ganga. A total of 657 registered boats are plying in Ganga, out of which 587 diesel operated boats have been converted to CNG, which is about 90 percent. The remaining boats will be converted to CNG this year itself.

Every message given from Kashi goes to the whole world

According to officials of the Gas Authority of India Limited, 100 CNG boats will participate in the boat rally from Namo Ghat to Ravidas Ghat. Along with this, the CNG boat race of the departments related to the Petroleum Ministry was also organized. People were also be made aware about the G-20 event through the boat rally. Free CNG gas was also be given to sailors participating in the rally.

According to the officials of the Municipal Corporation, the operation of boats from Namo Ghat to Ravidas Ghat was be closed from 1 pm to 8 pm.
