Ministry of Steel to Hold Open House on Steel Import Issues on April 27 in New Delhi

Companies and industry associations interested in participating must register in advance by sending an email to tech-steel@nic.in to secure a confirmed time slot

The Ministry of Steel will organise an Open House on April 27, 2026, to address issues related to steel imports, providing a direct platform for industry stakeholders to present their concerns.

The session will be held at Steel Room, 3rd Floor, GPOA-3, Netaji Nagar, New Delhi, and will run from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The initiative aims to facilitate dialogue between policymakers and industry representatives on key challenges involving import regulations and compliance frameworks.

Participation Details

Companies and industry associations interested in participating must register in advance by sending an email to tech-steel@nic.in to secure a confirmed time slot. The last date for submitting requests is April 24, 2026, by 3:00 PM.

Participants are required to provide the following details while applying:

  • Name of the company/association
  • Type of industry and product (e.g., Auto, Aerospace, Telecom, Defence)
  • Nature of the issue (SIMS/SARAL SIMS/QCO Exemption related)
  • Reference of application, if applicable
  • Brief description of the issue (maximum 50 words)
  • Name and designation of the participant (third-party representation not allowed)
  • Contact details (mobile number and email ID)

Key Guidelines

  • Only one representative per organisation will be allowed to attend
  • Walk-in participation will not be permitted due to logistical constraints
  • Time slots will be communicated via email after registration

The Open House will specifically focus on concerns related to Steel Import Monitoring System (SIMS), SARAL SIMS, and Quality Control Order (QCO) exemptions, which have been key areas of concern for stakeholders across sectors.

This initiative reflects the government’s continued efforts to ensure transparency, ease of doing business, and efficient grievance redressal within the steel sector.
