Mountaineer Poorna Malavath Inspired GEM Participants Of NTPC Unchahar
Poorna Malavath, the youngest girl to conquer Mount Everest, shared her experiences and motivated the participants to pursue their dreams
NTPC Unchahar organized a special session under its Girls’ Empowerment Campaign, featuring renowned mountaineer Poorna Malavath. The event saw participation from 120 girls, who drew inspiration from Malavath’s achievements.
Poorna Malavath, the youngest girl to conquer Mount Everest, shared her experiences and motivated the participants to pursue their dreams. She narrated her journey of perseverance and hard work, emphasizing how determination and effort can overcome any challenge.
Head of Project Mandeep Singh Chhabra highlighted the significance of the Girls’ Empowerment Campaign, stating, “This program is a crucial step towards making the girls in our society self-reliant and empowered. We are proud to host an inspiring personality like Poorna Malavath to motivate our participants. We hope the girls in our program are inspired by her to achieve their dreams.”
Addressing the participants, Poorna said, “You all possess the strength and ability to realize your dreams. The most important thing is to believe in yourself and never give up, no matter the circumstances.” She conveyed that courage and self-confidence in facing challenges are the keys to success.
During the interactive Q&A session, the girls asked Poorna about her mountaineering experiences, challenges, and preparations. Poorna answered all questions with simplicity and enthusiasm, infusing the participants with new energy and inspiration.
Notably, Poorna Malavath is a record-setting mountaineer who has scaled the highest peaks on all seven continents. Her life inspired the 2017 film “Poorna: Courage Has No Limit,” directed by Rahul Bose. In 2020, Poorna was also featured in Forbes India’s list of Self-Made Women.
