In a significant milestone towards strengthening employee development and institutional knowledge sharing, NTPC Vindhyachal has successfully concluded the Final Connect Session of its flagship mentoring intervention ‘SAMVAAD SETU’ (Pilot Project) with 100 percent completion, reaffirming the station’s leadership in fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional collaboration. The mentoring programme was launched as a structured HR-led capability-building initiative in partnership with SHRM India to create a more engagement-driven and measurable mentoring ecosystem within NTPC.
The concluding session began with a warm welcome address by Amit Kumar, DGM (HR-COE), setting the tone for a reflective and celebratory gathering. This was followed by insightful addresses from NTPC’s senior leadership, including Chandramouli S. Jangbahadur, GM (HR); Ruma De Sharma, HOHR (Vindhyachal); Sanjib Kumar Saha, HOP (Vindhyachal); and S. N. Panigrahi, CGM (HR) & RHOHR (NR-SR), all of whom emphasized the growing relevance of mentoring in building future-ready leadership, employee engagement, and organizational excellence.
The SHRM facilitation team also presented the key highlights of the programme, underlining the measurable impact, learning outcomes, and transformation witnessed during the pilot phase. According to NTPC’s broader HR learning framework, the organization has consistently focused on employee competence development through structured mentoring, training and leadership interventions, making SAMVAAD SETU a natural extension of its people-centric growth model.
A total of 38 mentor–mentee pairs actively participated in the initiative, demonstrating the station’s deep commitment towards nurturing talent, strengthening interpersonal trust, and ensuring seamless transfer of experience-based knowledge. The intervention significantly enhanced mutual understanding, communication, and professional confidence among participants, making the pilot project a meaningful and highly successful endeavour.
During the session, select mentor–mentee pairs shared their enriching experiences and practical learnings. Among them were Poornima Chaturvedi, Sr. Manager (HR), along with Dr. Abhishek Biswas, Dy. Specialist at Vindhya Hospital, and Abhishek Jain, Sr. Manager (EMD), with Maheswar Bhainsa, Asst. Manager (EMD). Their testimonials highlighted how structured mentoring can accelerate career growth, improve workplace confidence, and foster collaborative problem-solving across departments.
Recognized as the best-performing station in this pilot initiative, NTPC Vindhyachal once again demonstrated why it remains one of NTPC’s benchmark units—not only in operational excellence but also in people development and organizational culture. Notably, NTPC Limited has repeatedly positioned Vindhyachal among its leading performing stations while simultaneously strengthening HR and learning systems across its business units.
The session concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Shilpa Singh, Engineer (EMD), celebrating the collective success of SAMVAAD SETU and expressing confidence that the initiative would pave the way for wider rollout of structured mentoring interventions across NTPC stations in the coming years.
