Over 5.50 Crores Persons Sensitised By The Department Of Women And Child Development Under Mission Shakti In Uttar Pradesh
Under the successful initiative ‘Mission Shakti’, the Uttar Pradesh government is sparing no efforts to not only make women aware of their rights but to make them self-reliant and self-independent.
Under this campaign launched by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, The Department of Women and Child Development has already taken a few steps to ensure women’s security and empowerment by organising various awareness programmes.
The recent data shows that till December 25, the Department of Women and Child Development has sensitised over 5.5 crore persons including 1,98,74,468 women and 1,37,16,793 girls under the successful ‘Mission Shakti’ campaign.
The department had organised many events including Shakti Samwad, programmes on Child Labour, Child marriage, mental health, Betiyon Ki Pehchan, etc, Manoj Rai, Director, Women and Child, said.
It is to be mentioned that last month, a virtual programme ‘Haq Ki Bat, Zilaadhikari Ke Saath’was organised in every district across the state, where women and girls had a conversation with the District magistrates on the topics of sexual violence, gender inequality, domestic violence, and dowry violence via video conferencing.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had launched ‘Mission Shakti’ programme on October 17, 2020 with an aim to reduce crime against women which has been implemented for six months and will come to an end on ‘Basant Navratri’, April 2021.
