PM Kisan Samman : Rs 19,509 Crore Transferred To Accounts Of 9.75 Crore Farmers Of The Country
176.46 crore transferred in the account of 8.82 lakh farmers of Uttarakhand
Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi through video conferencing, directly transferred Rs 1,95,09,27,56,000 to the accounts of 9,75,46,378 farmer families under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. In this, an amount of Rs 176.46 crore has been transferred to the account of 8.82 lakh farmers of Uttarakhand.
PM speaks to Sushant Uniyal, a mushroom grower from Tehri
The Prime Minister also spoke to the beneficiary farmers of different states and inquired about the efforts being made by them. He also spoke to Sushant Uniyal of Chamba development block of Tehri district of Uttarakhand. Mr. Sushant is doing mushroom production work through Dingri Mushroom Production Unit. He told that he has benefited a lot from the government schemes. He has also connected the nearby villagers with his mushroom production.
Pahari youth should be useful for the mountain: PM (पहाड़ की जवानी पहाड़ के काम आए)
PM Modi said that the water of the mountain and the youth of the mountain are not useful for the mountain, we have to reverse it. Seeing youths like Sushant Uniyal, it seems that now the youth of the mountain is again coming in handy for the mountain. When the youth cultivates, a big change is sure to come. It is the endeavor of the government to reduce the distinction of facilities between cities and villages.
Indian agriculture has to be given a new direction
Prime Minister said that this time the country is going to celebrate its 75th Independence Day. This important stage is not only a matter of pride for us, it is also an opportunity for new resolutions, new goals. Our agriculture, our farmers have a big role in deciding what will be the condition of India in 2047 when the country will complete 100 years of independence. This is the time to give such a direction to India’s agriculture, which can face new challenges and take advantage of new opportunities.
Prime Minister said that the government has made the biggest ever purchase from farmers at MSP, be it Kharif or Rabi season. A few years ago, when there was a shortage of pulses in the country, the farmers of the country were urged to increase the production of pulses. The farmers of the country accepted that request. As a result, the production of pulses in the country has increased by almost 50 percent in the last 6 years.
There will be an investment of 11 thousand crores for the National Edible Oil Mission.
PM Modi said that for self-reliance in edible oil, a resolution has now been taken for the National Edible Oil Mission – Oil Palm. Through this mission, more than 11 thousand crore rupees will be invested in the cooking oil ecosystem. Today, for the first time, India has reached among the top-10 countries of the world in terms of agricultural exports. The country has set new records of agricultural exports during the Corona period. The saffron of Jammu and Kashmir is world famous. The government has decided that saffron from Jammu and Kashmir will be available at Nafed shops across the country.
Help from special infrastructure fund to Government Mandis
The Prime Minister said that we have experienced the changes taking place across the world due to the Corona pandemic. The demand for coarse cereals, spices, vegetables, fruits, organic products is increasing rapidly. The government has decided that the states which have government mandis can also get help from the special infrastructure fund. By using this fund our government mandis will be better, more strong, modern.
Now these small farmers are being given top priority in the agricultural policies of the country. Be it the infrastructure fund, or the formation of 10,000 Farmer Producer Unions, the effort is to increase the power of small farmers. Small farmers should also have more access to markets and their ability to bargain in the markets should also be greater.
Union Agriculture Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, State Agriculture Minister Shri Subodh Uniyal, Chief Ministers, Ministers and other dignitaries were present in the video conferencing.
After the program, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officials of the state to study the new initiatives being taken at various places to connect the youth with agriculture and horticulture. To double the income of farmers, attention should be paid to value addition and supply chain should be ensured.
