SCOPE and ICF USA bring together PSU leaders to explore coaching as a strategic tool for leadership development, governance excellence and organizational transformation

The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises and International Coaching Federation, the world’s largest coaching organization, jointly organized a high-level roundtable on “Coaching for National Transformation”, bringing together CMDs, Directors, SCOPE Executive Board Members and senior executives from leading Public Sector Undertakkings (PSUs).
The roundtable was addressed by D.G. Scope – Atul Sobti, Magdalena Nowicka Mook and Robert Garcia. The discussions centered on the growing importance of coaching in today’s rapidly evolving business environment and how Public Sector Enterprises can effectively integrate coaching into their organizational strategies to enhance leadership effectiveness, employee engagement and institutional performance.
Speaking on the occasion, Atul Sobti highlighted the vision behind the SCOPE-ICF collaboration and reiterated their shared commitment to strengthening governance excellence and leadership capabilities across India’s public sector ecosystem. He emphasized that successful integration of coaching within organizations requires creating awareness, fostering a coaching-oriented culture and ensuring access to qualified coaches.
Sobti noted that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between SCOPE and ICF includes a structured roadmap to build awareness through roundtables, develop a coaching culture framework tailored for PSEs and explore the creation of a platform that can connect organizations with qualified national and international coaches.
Magdalena Nowicka Mook described coaching as a strategic imperative and a powerful accelerator of performance for global leaders. She emphasized that in an increasingly complex geopolitical and economic environment, organizations must place greater emphasis on well-being, values-driven leadership and continuous personal development.
Robert Garcia advocated the development of a robust coaching culture to maintain workforce engagement and drive organizational excellence. He stressed the importance of human-centric coaching approaches that transform traditional top-down management systems into collaborative and inclusive work environments.
Delivering the concluding remarks, Director (HR) Gail (India) Limited – Ayush Gupta underscored the growing relevance of coaching in the public sector, particularly in managing diverse stakeholder expectations and navigating complex organizational challenges.
The roundtable marks a significant milestone in the long-term partnership between SCOPE and ICF. Through this alliance, SCOPE aims to facilitate the systematic adoption of structured and professional coaching systems across Public Sector Enterprises, aligned with ICF’s globally recognized coaching standards.
