SECL Signs MoU with KRCL to Strengthen Coal Evacuation Infrastructure

The collaboration is expected to support SECL's future production expansion plans by strengthening rail-based coal transportation infrastructure

In a significant move to enhance coal transportation capacity, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Konkan Railway Corporation Limited for the development of strategic rail infrastructure aimed at improving coal evacuation from its coalfields in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Harish Duhan, CMD, SECL; Sunil Gupta, Director (Operations & Commercial); N. Franklin Jayakumar, Director (Technical/Operations); D. Sunil Kumar, Director (Finance); Ashok Kumar Pattanaik, General Manager (Siding); and other senior officials.

The collaboration is expected to support SECL’s future production expansion plans by strengthening rail-based coal transportation infrastructure. The initiative will facilitate faster and more efficient coal evacuation, improve regional connectivity, and contribute to ensuring reliable fuel supply to power plants across the country, thereby reinforcing India’s energy security.
