The ACC Clears P.M. Prasad To Take Over CMD of Coal India Limited On July 1
Earlier, the PESB has recommended the name of P.M. Prasad for the top post
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared the name of P.M. Prasad for the post of Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Coal India Limited. He will assume charge of the coal behemoth on July 1, 2023 as the present CMD Pramod Agarwal, an IAS officer of the 1991 batch, is to superannuate on June 30, 2023.
At present, Mr. P.M. Prasad was the CMD of Central Coalfield Limited.
Earlier, Public Sector Headhunter, the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) had shortlisted seven candidates to be interviewed for this coveted post and the interview was held on May 3, 2023 in which seven candidates including Mr. Prasad, had been shortlisted.

b) Mr. Manoj Kumar, CMD, CMPDIL
c) Mr. Amitava Mukherjee, Director (Finance), NMDC Limited
d) Mr. Prabhudayal Chirania, Senior G.M., BSNL
e) Mr. Ashok Barnwal (IAS), Principal Secretary (Forest Department), Madhya Pradesh
f) Mr. Alok Singh (IRS), Commissioner of Income Tax
