Uttar Pradesh Agrotech 2024 : Providing Comprehensive Solutions For Farmers
Davesh Chaturvedi, Additional Chief Secretary, formally commenced the three-day exhibition
The Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture proudly inaugurated the Uttar Pradesh Agrotech 2024, on the 3rd of March marking a significant milestone in the agricultural landscape of the state. The inaugural ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Devesh Chaturvedi, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh, alongside other dignitaries.
Shri Devesh Chaturvedi, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh, articulated how the Agrotech exhibition stands poised to offer holistic solutions to farmers, spanning from tillage to post-harvest management, through innovative industry initiatives. He underscored the state government’s commitment to promoting crop diversification, emphasizing the inclusion of pulses, oilseeds, millets, and maize in its diversification scheme, with assured procurement at MSP.
With agriculture encompassing 12% of the total area and contributing to 20% of the country’s production, Shri Chaturvedi reiterated the government’s dedication to fostering agricultural prosperity and sustainable growth in Uttar Pradesh. He underscored the significance of leveraging cutting-edge technology to reduce costs and achieve optimal yields, thereby fostering prosperity among farmers. Additionally, he highlighted the pivotal role of civil societies and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in organizing training sessions to educate farmers on effectively implementing these practices.
Dr. MJ Khan, in his welcome address, highlighted the pivotal role of Industry-FPOs partnership in fortifying agriculture and harnessing the potential of technology. Dr. Asappa Vishwanathan, Director of the Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, expressed optimism that Uttar Pradesh Agrotech 2024 would mark a transformative milestone for agriculture, offering farmers invaluable insights through technology demonstrations and product showcases.
Dr. Anesh Kumar Sharma, Technical Director at ECIL, underscored the significance of soil testing and the importance of micronutrients in augmenting productivity. He introduced a groundbreaking product designed to assess soil nutrient levels, facilitating precise nutrient application to optimize productivity.
Mukesh Singh, Managing Director of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, stressed the pivotal role of public-private partnerships in bolstering exports, enhancing market linkages, and ensuring fair prices for farmers, echoing the progressive policies of the Uttar Pradesh government.
