Uttarakhand CM Virtually Inaugurates Three Air Services In The State
18 heliports are being built in the state under Udan Scheme- CM Dhami
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday virtually launched helicopter service from Sahastradhara (Dehradun) to Joshiada (Uttarkashi) and Sahastradhara (Dehradun) to Gauchar (Chamoli) and Delhi to Pithoragarh air service under Uttarakhand Air Connectivity Scheme from CM residence. On this occasion, he said that air services are going to prove to be a milestone in the development of the state, hence the government is constructing heliports at 18 places under the Udan scheme.
Chief Minister Dhami expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu ji for their cooperation in starting these services. The Chief Minister said that these three projects are going to prove to be very important for our state, with the start of these services, along with giving impetus to tourism and economic development in the state, the people of the border area Pithoragarh will get a new and better option to reach the country’s capital. The start of these air services will also speed up emergency and disaster management operations.
The Chief Minister said that the start of helicopter service from Dehradun Sahastradhara to Joshiada and Gauchar under the Uttarakhand Air Connectivity Scheme is a historic achievement for our state. Now the journey from Dehradun to Joshiada can be completed in just 40 minutes and the journey to Gauchar can be completed in just 50 minutes. He said that this step will prove to be a milestone in the development of our hilly region.
Chief Minister Dhami said that a few years ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the visionary scheme Udaan with the aim of enabling the common man to travel by air. This scheme has also contributed significantly in strengthening air connectivity in Uttarakhand. Under the Udaan scheme, 18 heliports are currently being developed in the state. Out of which air services have been successfully started at 10 heliports so far. Important areas like Srinagar, Haldwani, Munsiyari, Pithoragarh, Pantnagar, Champawat and Almora have been successfully connected with these heli services. In the coming time, efforts will be made to connect other important areas of the state with heli services.
Chief Minister Dhami said that while earlier it used to take hours to cross the inaccessible roads of the mountains, now we will be able to easily reach remote hilly areas within an hour. On one hand, the start of these air services will promote tourism in our rural areas, while on the other hand, new employment opportunities will also be created for local businesses, homestays and youth. Understanding the importance of air connectivity, the state government is paying special attention to promoting domestic flights.

Sudhanshu, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Chief Executive Officer UCADA Sonika, CEO Dayanand Saraswati, Executive Director Pawan Hans Sanjay, Ranjan Dutta from Alliance Air, R.C. Sharma, former Chief Minister and former Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta, MLA Suresh Singh Chauhan, Anil Nautiyal, District Magistrate Uttarkashi Dr. Meherban Singh Bisht, District Magistrate Chamoli Dr. Sandeep Tiwari and District Magistrate Pithoragarh Vinod Giri Goswami were present through virtual medium.
Sahastradhara – Gauchar Helicopter Service
This service will take about 50 minutes. This helicopter will depart from Sahastradhara to Gauchar at 09:30 am and will return from Gauchar to Sahastradhara at 10:40 pm. This service of Pawan Hans will be available 06 days a week from Monday to Saturday. Till 20 November 2024, its one way fare per person will be Rs 03 thousand and after that it will be Rs 3600 per person.
Sahastradhara-Joshiada Heli Service
This service will take about 40 minutes. This helicopter will depart from Sahastradhara to Joshiada at 12:00 noon and will return from Joshiada to Sahastradhara at 01:00 pm. This service of Pawan Hans will be available 06 days a week from Monday to Saturday. Till 20 November 2024, its one-way fare per person will be Rs 03 thousand and after that it will be Rs 3300 per person.

Delhi-Naini Saini (Pithoragarh) Flight Service
This service will be provided through ‘Alliance Air’ aircraft. This service will operate 03 days a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday).
This air journey from Delhi to Pithoragarh will take about 1 hour 25 minutes. This aircraft will depart from Delhi for Pithoragarh at 09:20 am and will return from Pithoragarh to Delhi at 11:15 am. Its fare has been fixed at Rs 2499 per person till 14 November 2024, while from November 16, the fare from Delhi to Pithoragarh has been fixed at Rs 6999 and from Pithoragarh to Delhi at Rs 7447 per person.
