Women In Public Sector (WIPS) Wing Of RINL Corners Glory At National Level
At present 91 Central PSUs and Nationalized Banks are Corporate Life Members of WIPS and about 15,000 women employees of PSUs across the country are Individual Members
The Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS) of RINL was conferred with the Third place at the National level for Best Enterprise award, a tribute to excellence in Public Enterprise management under Navratna Category in recognition of commendable work done by the enterprise for Development of Women in Organisation.
The awards were presented by the Chief Guest, HH (Her Highness) Smt. Promoda Devi Wadayar, Maharani* [wife of HH (His Highness) Shi Srikantadaa Narasimharaja Wadiyar] at the 34th National Meet of the Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS) held at HAL Management Academy, Bengaluru, today (12.02.2024).
The prestigious award was received by Shri G Gandhi, CGM (HR) & President WIPS, RINL along with Smt. N Bhanu, GM (Training), RINL & Smt.K Sarala, DGM (Telecom), RINL members of the Executive committee of Southern Region WIPS representing RINL-VSP and other Women delegates from WIPS-RINL.*
Smt. Jajula Durga, Senior Technician, Telecom Department, RINL was conferred with “Best Women employee award (3rd place) in Non-Executive category at National Level.”* The award is presented for the noteworthy contributions by Smt. Jajula Durga for the Organisation along with extraordinary accomplishments with identifiable impacts that have provided significant advance in enabling, understanding key scientific issues.
As per the directives of cabinet secretariat the “Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS)” was created under the aegis of SCOPE on 12th February, 1990 with a Central Apex body at Delhi and four Regional Chapters. In the past three decades of its existence, WIPS has emerged as a single unified group of professional Women in the organized sector. At present 91 Central PSUs and Nationalized Banks are Corporate Life Members of WIPS and about 15,000 women employees of PSUs across the country are Individual Members.
The 34th National Meet of the Forum themed “Women: The Future of Sustainable Growth” is focused on Women as a key driver of sustainable growth. Working Women including those working in PSUs have come a long way and have carved out a niche for themselves through hard work, dedication, professionalism, domain knowledge with due support being provided by the GOI, organizations and family.
The function was honoured with the presence of Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE, Ms Sangeeta Ramrakhyani, Director(Personnel), Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), Ms Kalyani Sethuraman, IRAS, Chief Vigilance officer, (CVO), HAL and a galaxy of dignitaries including top officials from various other organisations.
It may be noted that WIPS at RINL has been taking up several activities/measures with the support of management towards the benefit of the working women at RINL ever since its inception in the year 1997 at RINL. WIPS in RINL had completed 26 years of its formation.
The present committee led by Smt. K S Chandrawati, Coordinator RINL-WIPS have been doing several activities for all round development of women employees of RINL which includes training programs in online and offline mode, sports events, CSR activities for promoting girl education, official & cultural functions, competitions etc.
Shri Atul Bhatt, CMD, RINL and Shri SC Pandey, Director (Personnel) & additional charge Director (Finance) RINL congratulated The Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS) of RINL and all women employees, commending their outstanding achievement in securing the Third place at National level for Best Enterprise award under the Navratna Category, a testament to their remarkable contributions to the development of women within the organization.
