Noida International Airport Starts Commercial Flights From June 15, IndiGo To Operate First Service
The new airport is expected to reduce pressure on Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport

Noida International Airport in Jewar will officially commence commercial passenger flight operations from June 15, marking a historic milestone for Uttar Pradesh’s aviation infrastructure and giving Delhi-NCR its second major civil aviation hub.
The airport operator announced that IndiGo will operate the inaugural passenger flight from the much-awaited greenfield airport, while Akasa Air and Air India Express are also set to launch services soon after.
Located at Jewar in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, the ambitious Noida International Airport project is being seen as one of north India’s most transformative infrastructure developments. The launch of scheduled commercial flights is expected to significantly strengthen regional air connectivity for Noida, Greater Noida, Delhi-NCR, Agra, Mathura, Aligarh and the entire western Uttar Pradesh belt.
Major Relief For Delhi-NCR Air Traffic
With passenger operations beginning from June 15, the new airport is expected to reduce pressure on Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport while offering a modern, efficient and easily accessible travel alternative for millions of passengers across the National Capital Region.
Authorities said the airport combines advanced terminal infrastructure, multimodal transport integration, cargo handling capability and sustainability-focused design, making it one of India’s most modern aviation gateways.
Expressway Connectivity To Boost Passenger Convenience
Strategically linked through the Yamuna Expressway and upcoming regional road corridors, Noida International Airport is expected to become a preferred travel hub for both domestic flyers and future international passengers.
Besides improved passenger convenience, the airport is projected to trigger large-scale economic activity in the region through logistics expansion, hospitality growth, real estate development, industrial investment and direct as well as indirect employment generation.
Big Push To Uttar Pradesh’s Infrastructure Story
The commencement of commercial operations from June 15 also reinforces Uttar Pradesh’s emergence as a fast-growing infrastructure and investment destination. With three airlines already confirming services in the initial phase, aviation experts expect Jewar airport to evolve into a major passenger and cargo centre for northern India over the next few years.
As the countdown begins, Noida International Airport is poised to become one of the most significant aviation and connectivity projects in contemporary India.
