BCCL Director (HR) Reviews Progress of Temporary Mine Closure Plan Activities at Padugoda Colliery
Focus on environmental compliance, community health, and skill development for sustainable mine closure

Director (Human Resources), Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), Shri Murli Krishna Ramaiya, visited Padugoda Colliery under the Western Jharia Area to review the progress of various activities being carried out under the Temporary Mine Closure Plan (TMCP).
During the visit, he inspected sites identified for sealing and dismantling operations and took stock of the current status of ongoing works from concerned officials. He also reviewed medical camps, air and water quality monitoring initiatives being conducted under TMCP, emphasizing strict adherence to environmental norms and the need to prioritize the health and well-being of local communities.
The Director (HR) directed officials to expedite the implementation of proposed skill development programmes under TMCP. He stressed that livelihood-oriented training initiatives for local residents should be taken up on priority to ensure long-term benefits for affected communities.
In a meeting with project officers and managers of the Mahuda Group of Mines, he instructed that all TMCP-related activities be executed effectively within stipulated timelines, ensuring due consideration to safety, environmental protection, and social responsibilities.
Senior officials from Koyla Bhawan headquarters and Western Jharia Area were also present during the visit. Through the effective implementation of TMCP initiatives, BCCL continues to reinforce its commitment towards environmental protection, social responsibility, and sustainable development.
