The National Land Monetization Corporation (NLMC) has withdrawn 35 plots from the ongoing e-auction of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) land in Visakhapatnam following a judicial court order prohibiting their sale. The corporation has also extended the deadline for registration and submission of earnest money deposits (EMD) to November 1, 2026, while the e-auction of the remaining available plots will be held on November 3.

In two successive corrigenda issued on October 26 and October 28, NLMC revised the terms and schedule of the land auction being conducted under the Request for Proposal (RFP) dated August 31, 2026.

Court Order Forces Withdrawal of 35 Plots

Through Corrigendum-6, dated October 26, NLMC withdrew 35 plots from the auction process in compliance with a judicial court order prohibiting their sale. These plots will not be offered to prospective bidders under the original RFP.

The development changes the inventory available for the monetisation exercise, with bidders required to consult the revised schedule to identify the plots that remain available for sale.

Auction Schedule Revised

In Corrigendum-7, issued on October 28, NLMC announced revised timelines for the auction process.

The last date for registration and submission of EMD has been extended to November 1, 2026, until 8 PM. The e-auction of the remaining available plots will take place on November 3, 2026, between 11 AM and 5 PM.

Property inspections will continue to be permitted by prior appointment. Letters of Acceptance (LoAs) will be issued to successful bidders following the auction.

Bidders Advised to Review Revised Documents

NLMC has advised prospective bidders to carefully examine Corrigendum-6, particularly the schedule of the 35 withdrawn plots, and Corrigendum-7, which specifies the revised auction deadlines.

All other terms and conditions of the original RFP and subsequent corrigenda will remain unchanged, except where specifically modified by the latest amendments.

The corrigenda and related information are available on the official websites of the National Land Monetization Corporation and the e-auction portal.

NLMC’s Land Monetisation Mandate

NLMC operates under the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance, and facilitates the monetisation of surplus land and other non-core assets held by Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) and other government entities in coordination with the concerned asset-owning organisations.

The RINL land auction is part of this asset monetisation process, offering interested bidders an opportunity to participate in an online auction for the plots remaining available for sale.
