Sunit Sharma Is The New Chairman And CEO Of Railway Board

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Sunit Sharma to the post of Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board as the term of VK Yadav ended on 31 December 2020. Sharma is a 1981 batch Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineer. Till now, he was posted as General Manager of Eastern Railways and earlier he held the additional charge of General Manager of Metro Railways.

An order issued by Yadav’s office on Thursday said that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved Sharma’s appointment to the post of Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board. Sharma has been appointed on the highest pay scale (Level-17 as per seventh CPC). Sharma is a 1981 batch Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineer (IRSME).
