Corona Vaccination Will Start In Uttar Pradesh Around Makar Sankranti, says Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that for the last 10 months, when major countries like America and Britain are battling the global pandemic, our state as well as the country has overcome it under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the dry run of the vaccination is being carried out in six districts presently and it will be done in the entire state on January after which the vaccination will be started around `Makar Sankranti’.
The CM, who was speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the multi-storeyed lawyers’ building in Gorakhpur collectorate campus said “We are close to defeating corona in UP through our collective efforts and the WHO has also appreciated us because of the best outcome of corona control in the largest populous state. Two months ago, there were more than 68,000 active cases of corona in UP and now it has come down to 13,000 as on date. The recovery rate of corona in UP is best at 97 percent and the death rate is around 1 percent. Soon we will conquer this pandemic totally,” he said.
Over 40 Lakh migrant workers returned to the state during the pandemic and government made all efforts to get them employment near their homes and the state government also did not let the pace of development stop by putting a break on the speed of Corona. In the 2016 aviation survey, it was said that only six passengers will be available in Gorakhpur but we rejected the findings and today there is a flight from Gorakhpur to eight cities, he said.
“A network of roads is being laid along with the Purvanchal Expressway and the Gorakhpur link Expressway for the speedy development of state. From 1947 to 2017, there were only 12 state medical colleges in the state and in the past three years, we have started building 30 new medical colleges. After Gorakhpur and Rae Bareilly, an AIIMS like institution is also being built in Varanasi,” said the CM. The state had ranked 26th in the country in the urban housing scheme in 2016, now it ranks 1st, he added.
“All the `Tehsils’ of the state will soon be equipped with advocate chambers and the beginning has been done from Gorakhpur. These chambers are not just built for the lawywrs but they will also become a platform for the common man to get justice. This is actually the beginning of work for providing justice to the victim,” the CM said.
The CM also informed that the state government has decided to bring all the divisional and departmental offices into a unified building and it has been started from the Gorakhpur and Varanasi commisionerate. “By this, the public and the advocates will get all the facilities at one place. Arrangements will also be made for a canteen so that people coming from the villages could get food at cheaper rates. Like divisional offices, the district level offices will also be brought in a single integrated building,” said the CM.
The CM also said that the state government is committed to provide all possible assistance to the advocates’ society. “The government has paid Rs 23.11 Crore in 471 cases under the Advocate Social Security Fund and Rs 4.46 Crore in 662 cases under the Advocate Welfare Fund. Along with this, Rs 1.87 Crore has being sanctioned and Rs 1.6 Crore has been disbursed under the Rs 5000 per month assistance scheme to young advocates. Besides this, Rs 573 Crore and Rs 184 Crore have also being sanctioned respectively to Prayagraj High Court and Lucknow bench for constructing multi-storey building and parking,” he said.
Calling upon the advocates to get connected with technique, the CM said that it will assist in providing speedy justice to people. “During the corona period, only by getting connected to technology, we were able to send funds in the accounts of millions of farmers, elderly widowed women and disabled people. Not only a temple is being constructed in Ayodhya but it will also help in giving employment to Lakhs of people in the coming times,” he said.
