Anand Shekhar Singh Appointed Independent Director on CMPDIL Board

The Government of India has appointed Anand Shekhar Singh as Non-Official Independent Director on the Board of Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDIL), a Miniratna public sector enterprise under Coal India Limited.
The appointment has been approved by the President of India and will be effective from the date of notification for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The appointment has been made in accordance with the Articles of Association of CMPDIL.
Anand Shekhar Singh is a distinguished entrepreneur, educationist, industrialist and social contributor with more than two decades of experience spanning education, pharmaceutical manufacturing, administration and corporate governance. He officially assumed the position of Non-Official Independent Director on the CMPDIL Board on 15 July 2026.
An academically accomplished professional, Anand Shekhar Singh holds an M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Moscow State Mining University, Russia (1994) and an MBA in Marketing from the Russian Academy of Economics, Moscow (1995), giving him a unique blend of technical expertise and business leadership.
Currently, he serves as Chairman of the Babu Sunder Singh Group of Institutions and Director of S K Meditech Private Limited. In these roles, he has led initiatives in higher education, skill development, healthcare, social welfare and employment generation while also providing strategic leadership in pharmaceutical manufacturing and exports.
His expertise encompasses management, administration, technical operations, corporate governance, research, sales and marketing, making him well-equipped to contribute to the strategic direction of CMPDIL. According to his profile, his experience in governance, policy formulation and strategic decision-making is expected to strengthen the company’s Board and support its role in India’s mining sector.
CMPDIL is the apex consultancy and engineering organization in the coal sector, providing integrated services in mine planning, exploration, engineering, environmental management and allied disciplines. The induction of Anand Shekhar Singh is expected to further strengthen the Board with his extensive experience in corporate governance, institutional leadership and industrial management.
