Defence PSU TCL CMD Selection Stayed By Madras High Court

Madras High Court intervened after hearing petition of a senior officer who alleged that his candidature had been ignored by the PESB

In a rare case, the Madras High Court has stayed the Selection of the CMD for one of the Defence PSU.

One of the Senior IOFS Officer who applied for the post was ignored and his name was not included in the shortlist prepared by the Public Sector headhunter – The Public Entetprises Selection Board.

The aggrieved officer filed a Writ Petition in the Madras High Court against Public Enterprises Selection Board for not including his name in the shortlist even though he fulfills all the eligibility Conditions.He further complained in the Petition that his juniors were shortlisted for the interview.

The petition came before the bench of Justice Anand Venkatesh and Senior Lawyer Ravikumar Paul argued that injustice is being meted to his client. On hearing the senior lawyer, the Judge directed PESB not to finalise the selection till 11/9/24.

The PESB issued a statement that recommendation of the PESB on the Selection of CMD TCL has not been finalised due to the High Court Order in WP 25385 of 2024.
