Interview For Post Of Director (HR) IOCL Scheduled On December 29
Shortlisting of Ms. Saumya Chandraker, General Manager from MRPL comes to a big surprise to one and all
It’s action time within the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) which is set to get its new Director (Human Resources) after a gap of about eight months. The public sector head hunter, The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has shortlisted 12 candidates to be interviewed for this coveted post. The interview is set to be held on December 29, 2023. The post had been lying vacant ever since R.K. Mohapatra being denied extension on May 02 by MoPNG. The interviews shall be conducted over Video Conferencing. Secretary, MoPNG, also would be having his say in the final selection as he has been asked by the PESB to assist the board in making its recommendations.
Sources within the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas as well as those in Indian Oil Corporation Limited told www.indianpsu.com – on condition of anonymity that in view of a strong and robust panel of internal candidates, there is no chance of any external candidates, in case of selection of merit without any external political or bureaucratic influence or pressure. However, shortlisting of Ms. Saumya Chandraker, General Manager from MRPL comes to a big surprise to one and all which includes 110 applications including 91 external candidates.
This is one of the most robust panels from internal candidates as Dr. Mukesh Ranjan Das, Head of HR function of Marketing division, have decades of HR experience, is due for retirement in January, 2026. If selected, he will have less than two years for the position.
Dr. T K Pattnayak is currently heading HR function of Ref, and earlier headed Pipelines HR as well.
Ms. Rashmi Govil is currently ED in Corporate office, have long and versatile experience of ER and HRD functions of Refineries as well as Corporate office. If selected, it will maintain the women representation in board, post superannuation of Ms. Shukla Mistry, who due for retirement from Director Refineries in March, 2024.
Shailesh Tiwari is heading Southern Region Pipelines, worked for around 2 decades in Corporate Office HR functions earlier.
Mr. Mathew Varghese is currently working with Chairman Secretariat, who have been shortlisted due to his previous experience in HR. Apart from him, all other candidates are ED from 2022 batch, while Mr. Varghese is from 2023 batch ED. Being working with Chairman, insider believes he is closer to Chairman and may well emerge as the dark horse.
A total of 91 external candidates and 19 internal candidates applied for this coveted post earlier, which is a record for the PESB.
