Santoor Legend Pandit Shivkumar Sharma Is No More

PM Modi condoles demise of noted artiste, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma

Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, Indian music composer and santoor player, passes away in Mumbai. He was 84. He had been suffering from kidney-related issues for the last six months and was on dialysis. He passed away due to cardiac arrest.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the demise of noted Santoor maestro, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said; “Our cultural world is poorer with the demise of Pandit Shivkumar Sharma Ji. He popularised the Santoor at a global level. His music will continue to enthrall the coming generations. I fondly remember my interactions with him. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”
