Steel Executives Association (SEA) of RINL Vizag Steel President Katam Chandra Rao and General Secretary KVD Prasad along with Steel Executive Federation of India Chairman. Mr. N.K. Banchore, met Hon’ble Srikakulam Lok Sabha MP Shri K. Ram Mohan Naidu and presented memorandums on RINL Vizag Steel issues and steel executive issues of promotion TRP etc. They explained to him in detail regarding the current situation of RINL Vizag Steel after the 100% strategic sale announcement by the union government in January 2021. Since then, the situation has worsened day by day and RINL could do only 50% production only due to severe cash crunch. Now, the plant entered in SOS position since past three months and unable to pay its dues to stake holders. Executive representatives urged honorable MP to talk to all this concern sitting in centre for immediate intervention.
Because of the halt in promotions since pass 3 years, hundreds of dynamic experienced officers from reputed institutes are leaving the prestigious organisation. This will create technological crisis in near future as HR is most important factor for steel production, which will affect the organisation badly. It is unfair to stop the promotions showing illogical reasons like 11 crores burden per year, which is not even 0.01% of its turnover.
Honorable MP told Vizag Steel is the only shore based plant within the vicinity of two Major ports and had a huge land Bank by which it can be expanded up to 20 million tonnes in the near future to cater the country need with economy. He also added this is pride of not only Andhra but also India. He promised like his father late Shri Yerram Naidu, who saved RINL from the crunches of BIFR in the year 2000-01 with the help of the them Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji by sanctioning Rs. 1300 crore as preferential shares which RINL paid back in later years.
The MP also expressed SAIL RINL merger will be the permanent solution and promised that he will work on those lines. Regarding executives issues, he promised to take up with the Union Steel Minister and top officials from the Ministry of Steel.
Later SEA and SEFI representatives submitted resolutions of SAIL-RINL merger by all associations and unions of RINL Vizag Steel and merger resolution copies of Steel Executive Federation of India (SEFI) & National Confederation of Officers Association (NCOA) to Niti Aayog Vice-Chairman.
