Petrol, Diesel, LPG Stocks Adequate; Govt Imports Fuel from Canada, Norway and Russia to Ensure Supply: Hardeep Puri
A committee of three ministers has been constituted to continuously monitor the evolving situation and take timely decisions, Minister Puri said

The Government on Thursday assured that India has adequate supplies of crude oil and petroleum products, and there is no shortage of diesel, petrol, or domestic cooking gas in the country.
Replying in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri said that the country’s energy supply chain remains stable despite the evolving situation in West Asia.
He stated that LNG cargoes are arriving daily and fuel supplies are also being routed through alternative channels to ensure uninterrupted availability across the country.
The minister informed the House that compressed natural gas (CNG) supplies are continuing at 100 percent capacity, while India is sourcing crude oil and other fuel supplies from multiple countries including Canada, Norway and Russia.
Puri further said that domestic LPG production has increased by 28 percent, and the government has activated alternate fuel supply channels to strengthen energy security. In addition, the supply of kerosene oil through retailers is also being ensured to meet public demand.
He noted that fuel demand has temporarily increased in some areas due to panic buying, but the government has taken necessary steps to manage the situation effectively.
The minister also informed Parliament that a committee of three ministers has been constituted to continuously monitor the evolving situation and take timely decisions.
“We are fully prepared to deal with such situations for a long time,” Puri said, adding that priorities have also been set for the supply of natural gas to ensure critical sectors receive uninterrupted fuel.
