GP Petroleums JV Amron Selected by Indian Oil as Operating Partner for Pipavav Bitumen Cell
Indian Oil Corporation appoints Amron Oil Resources to operate Gujarat facility under SPRINT 2026 Mission Excellence, strengthening specialty bitumen supply for India's infrastructure sector
GP Petroleums Limited (GPPL) has announced a major milestone with its joint venture company, Amron Oil Resources Private Limited, being selected by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) as the operating partner for the Pipavav Bitumen Cell in Gujarat.
Amron Oil Resources is a 50:50 joint venture between GP Petroleums Limited and West Coast Oils LLP. Established in 2004, the company manufactures and supplies specialty bitumen products that cater to India’s growing road construction and infrastructure sectors. Its portfolio includes Bitumen Emulsions, Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB), and Crumb Rubber Modified Bitumen (CRMB), designed to improve road durability, performance, and sustainability.
The first dispatch of bulk bitumen from the Pipavav facility was flagged off on June 4, 2026, by John Prasad K., Country Head (Industrial Business), Marketing Head Office, IndianOil, in the presence of V. M. Gade, CGM (Industrial Business), Gujarat State Office, Abhishek Tripathi, DIBH, ADO, Aman Kumar, DIBH, RDO, and senior officials from IndianOil, GP Petroleums Limited, and Amron Oil Resources. The facility was inaugurated under IndianOil’s SPRINT 2026 Mission Excellence initiative.
The selection of Amron Oil Resources reflects its technical expertise, operational excellence, and long-standing experience in delivering high-performance specialty bitumen solutions to the infrastructure sector.
For GP Petroleums, the partnership marks another step in its strategy of expanding into specialized, high-growth petroleum segments that support India’s infrastructure ambitions. The company said the association with Indian Oil Corporation further strengthens its presence in the industrial and infrastructure ecosystem.
Located at the strategically important Pipavav port in Gujarat, the Bitumen Cell is expected to enhance the efficient supply of specialty bitumen products across Gujarat and neighbouring states. The facility is expected to improve logistics efficiency while supporting large-scale highway and road infrastructure projects with timely availability of premium-quality bitumen products.
