Coal India Chairman, BCCL CMD Meet CISF DG to Strengthen Security Coordination at Coal Mines

CISF assures full support to strengthen security framework and ensure safe, seamless operations across BCCL mining areas

In a significant step towards strengthening security at India’s coal mines, Coal India Limited (CIL) Chairman B. Sairam and Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) Chairman-cum-Managing Director Manoj Kumar Agarwal paid a courtesy call on Praveer Ranjan, Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), in New Delhi on Friday.

The high-level meeting focused on enhancing coordination between BCCL and CISF to ensure uninterrupted coal production, strengthen security arrangements, and improve operational efficiency across the company’s mining areas.

During the discussions, both sides deliberated on key security challenges, including illegal coal mining, coal theft, and attacks on BCCL officials. They also explored measures to further strengthen security mechanisms for safeguarding BCCL’s mines, infrastructure, and workforce.

CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan assured full cooperation in reinforcing the security framework and implementing effective strategies to protect critical coal assets and maintain a safe working environment.

The meeting underscored the vital role played by CISF in ensuring uninterrupted coal production by securing strategic mining operations and protecting national assets.
