‘Dr. Ambedkar Samagra Seva Abhiyan’ Launched In Bihar On Ambedkar Jayanti

Government Services to Reach Every SC/ST Hamlet Across the State : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the Bihar government launched a massive outreach campaign aimed at delivering the benefits of various government schemes directly to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar formally launched the ‘Dr. Ambedkar Samagra Seva Abhiyan’ at the Convention Hall in Patna on Monday.

The Chief Minister Nitish Kumar flagged off the Information, Education and Communication (IEC) promotional van that will travel across all 38 districts of Bihar to raise awareness about the initiative and various government schemes.

A Drive Toward Inclusive Governance

The campaign is a significant step toward the state’s commitment to social justice and inclusive development. With the motto ‘Har Tola, Har Parivar, Har Seva’, the initiative seeks to ensure that no family in any SC/ST hamlet is left out from availing government benefits.

Special camps will be organized in more than 60,000 SC/ST hamlets across the state. In each camp, residents will be able to access and enroll in 22 key government schemes along with several others, all at a single location.

Camps to Be Held Twice a Week

According to the plan, camps will be held in one hamlet of half the panchayats of each block every Wednesday, and in the remaining panchayats every Saturday. This schedule will continue until all SC/ST hamlets are covered.

Organized and Supervised at Every Level

Each camp will be managed by the Panchayat Secretary and Vikas Mitra, with participation from relevant department employees at the panchayat level. A supervisory officer has been assigned to monitor the proceedings of every camp, while the District Magistrates will oversee the implementation at the district level.

Schemes Available at the Camps

Beneficiaries will be able to avail services from the following key schemes and programs:

  • Ration card issuance and food grain distribution
  • Ujjwala Yojana – Free LPG gas connection
  • Education schemes – enrollment, nutrition, Anganwadi services
  • Issuance of birth/death certificates and Aadhaar updates
  • Skill training and employment schemes
  • Ayushman Bharat health insurance
  • Housing, old age/widow/disabled pensions
  • Nal-Jal Yojana, Gali-Nali Yojana, Swachhata Abhiyan
  • Banking and insurance services – Jan-Dhan, Jeevan Jyoti, Suraksha Bima
  • MGNREGA job cards and employment
  • Tola Sampark Yojana, Land Rights Certificate (Vasgeet Parcha)
  • Sustainable Livelihood Scheme for self-employment assistance
  • A Vision for Ground-Level Transformation

The state government emphasized that the campaign is designed to bring government services directly to people’s doorsteps, eliminating the need for them to visit multiple offices. “Now, the government will go to the people, not the other way around,” officials said.

By launching this ambitious campaign on Dr. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, the Bihar government aims to honor his legacy by ensuring that the most marginalized sections of society receive the support and opportunities they are entitled to.
