Impriotierty In Selection Process Of New Chairman Of IOCL : Ex ED Of Maharatna PSU Writes To PMO

Is there dearth of talent in India and why are youngsters not being given a chance, asks the retired official

Pradeep Krishan Yadav, former Executive Director (Gas), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), who worked with the Maharatna PSU for 36 years, has raised serious concerns on the selection process of the new Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Limited. In a letter to the office of Prime Minister, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and others, the veteran has questioned the entire process of selection of the new Chairman to the top post.

Speaking to www.indianpsu.com – Mr. Yadav quipped that there is no dearth of skill in India and though he is not in favour of any specific candidate, why are youngsters, who can lead the Maharatna PSU with new and innovative practices, are not being given a chance. He asks that why successors for such big PSUs are not being groomed from within the organization and if multinationals like Google and Microsoft can be led by young blood, what is the problem with our system and in this specific case – Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). Why extension to CMD/CEO of Indian PSUs on attaining retirement age ?, he asks!
